Life has gotten hectic (in a good way here). I applied for a job in my same department that would be a promotion, but also more work. I also just applied to graduate school. Eeek!

Stampin up Garden from the Heart and *Blog Candy*

Have you had a chance to check out the new 2010 Stampin Up Occasions Mini, yet? I have been putting my wish list together.

Every 6 months or so I set goals for myself. Right now my focus is on learning more about where my food comes from and growing my own food. I also wanted to grow roots in my community and gardening seemed like a great way to literally and figuratively do so. So I signed up for my local Master Gardner class. Today was my third week of class. I am loving it so far, but wowza there is plenty to read and learn. Who knew there was so too gardening in Flagstaff? This three inch manual doesn't even cover it all:

 

With my current gardening goals, I might just need Stampin Up's Garden from the Heart Set (117004) to match.

Happy Birthday Arizona- Tart and Tangy Citrus (Mojo125)

Happy Valentine's Day, Single's Awareness Day, or for those of you here in AZ- Happy Birthday Arizona. Arizona or the Valentine State, turns 98 today!

I created this card using the Mojo Monday Sketch 125 (MOJO125)  and since Arizona is known for citrus, I had to include a tart and tangy lemon. Mmmm...now I am craving lemon pie bars. My parents neighbor's have lemon trees which mom goes over to grab a lemon to make lemon pie bars for Christmas each year. Yummy! 

Supplies used:

Tart and Tangy Stamp set (remember this is one you can get free with qualifying Sale-A Bration order)

Style

My apartment is currently a hodgepodge of things I have collected through the years. Many of these items were things simply left behind by old roommates or left to me by grandparents. 

This is actually the first apartment I have had to myself that had room for both a table and couch. As I am preparing to try to rent out my spare room (bye bye craft room :( ), I decided maybe it is time to make the place look a little more like home and so of course various crafts are involved in doing so. 

I have not had a chance to actually finish them. However, I did pick out fabric for throw pillows:

 

And then of course I will need to make something using Stampin Up supplies! So I gathered a few favorites that seem to go well and displayed them on the table for inspiration (the pillows will be made first so this project may have to wait a bit).

 
 

Did you notice they seem to match the 2009-2010 Stampin UP! Idea book and catalog? Hmmm... I really do love this year's catalog. That was not intentional though.

Oh and... the other part of this getting ready for a roommate thing involves emptying out the spare bedroom. Thus I will be posting some photos soon of various things I am selling. Many are non stampin up craft supplies that it is time to part with as am sticking to SU only. There may be a hodge podge of other things in there as well. :) I will post photos here first and if something interests you let me know. Otherwise they will go to one of the auction sites. 

Retake

One of my fellow hoppers was kind enough to point out that my photos for the last blog hop could use help. I love friends that are kind enough to point stuff like that out. :) Lol...truthfully, I was having issues with lighting that night and did not have time to mess with it more so I just went with it. I have an ott light I typically use to help with lighting, but it still was not cutting it.  As we FINALLY have a sunny day, I solved the problem by just using natural light. This is my favorite way to take photos of projects.

Christmases past and Holiday Mini

Can it really be that Christmas was over a month and a half ago? 

I created this simple little card for a fellow crafty friend and sent it along with some of Stampin Up's famous heat and stick powder (100625) for her to play with back in December. 

This card features the adorable little stocking and tree from the Sparkly and Bright set (115346 ). I made quite a few cards using this adorable Christmas set. They really pop when stamped on white paper and cut out with paper snips and then adhered with dimensional adhesive. 

This set is still available to order if you are planning to get a head start on your Christmas cards this year. With how crazy last Christmas got for me, that is my goal. :) 

However, the sentiment "Make Merry" comes from the Berry Christmas set (currently not available) which was in the Holiday mini and is unfortunately not available to order at this time.

My contribution to the hop was inspired by the cute cherry stamp in the Tart and Tangy stamp set. This set is available for purchase from the catalog as well. Right now you can earn it FREE though! I made this card thinking of several pre teen girls in the family. Ironically after assembling them I realized that it also matched the catalog. LOL! That was not intentional, but hey it works!

 

For the Card, I used the flower trio punch on old olive card stock to make this funky lace paper and added glitter to give the cherries zing. 

The sentiment "sweetest ever" is from the Hostess set "More the Merrier". I have gotten SOO much use out of this set. This is by far the most versatile set I have ever owned. I love the short and sweet sentiments and find I use them often. You can still earn this set from either a qualifying order or workshop. Let me know if you have questions on how to qualify. 

 

And of course I had to make a matching little pillow box to add a sweet treat to as well.
